What type of paper do you use for this print?

All photographs are printed on Hahnemuhle® fine art paper in a certified photo lab in The Netherlands. Known as one of the most popular papers for artwork and photography around the world. This extra heavy etching paper is velvety smooth with a fine surface structure and a matte finish.

Hahnemuhle ensures an incomparable classic look and feel, which you cannot find with other papers. It embodies sustainability and vegan principles, as it is crafted solely from natural raw materials, free from any chemicals or pesticides, and manufactured with reduced water consumption.

Depending on the photograph, I mostly make use of Hahnemühle German Etching, Bamboo Natural Line, Photo Rag® Bright White or FineArt Baryta Satin. It will truly turn the image into art.

How many prints will be sold?

This limited artwork comes in a maximum quantity of 6 prints. Once this print sells out, it’ll never be available again. Each artwork includes an official hand signed Certificate of Authenticity. An official document that provides your name, the name of the artwork, date, edition number and a hologram authentication patch.

Is the print UV protected?

Yes, each photo is printed with UV resistant ink so that your photo does not discolor. Moreover, Hahnemühle papers possess remarkable resistance to aging, making them capable of lasting for several hundred years. Just to be sure, to enjoy a lifelong quality, I advise to not hang your print in direct sunlight for a long time.

What’s the difference between a regular print and a fine art print?

The difference has to do with the paper. Fine art prints are made with high-quality archival inks using a high-resolution large format printer. The prints are made with acid free paper, have a very long lifespan (over 100 years) and normally don’t turn yellow, crack or fade.

I would like to order another size than offered in the shop. Is that possible?

That’s maybe possible. Just send a message on Whatsapp or email me at info@artfromabove.nl with your preferred print size. I’ll let you know if that size is possible for the photo you want.

How do you produce the floating frames?

All wooden frames are handmade by a professional framer. Therefore, other frame sizes are also possible. The print will be fixed on a 1 mm thick aluminum plate and then mounted in the wooden frame. The photograph has a small distance to the edge of the frame, creating a floating effect. The beautiful wood grain remains visible with all colors.

What types of wood do you use?

I always aim to select the best matching wood color with the colors in the photo. I mostly make use of popler wood, mansonia, walnut and oak.

As wood is a natural product, the final color can always differ a little from the pictures you see on this website. For example, mansonia wood can be more light or dark, or we can add an oiled layer to give more color.

What's the best matching frame color with my print?

The frame color you choose can make a huge difference to the appearance of the artwork. Usually, the artwork comes out the best when you combine the colors of the photo with the color of the frame. When you scoll down, you’ll see which frame color I advice to choose with this photograph.

Can I hang the frame myself?

Yes, each frame is ready to hang on your wall, using an aluminum profile at the backside of the frame.

Do you use glass for framing?

No. To give the best classic look of the artwork, all frames come without glass.
